Learning / Training / Teaching activities

First short-term joint staff training event of the MSAE project was organized in September, 22-24, 2021 as 3-day virtual activity due to the unstable situation with covid.

It was focused on methodological and promotional materials tailored for Local Administration and municipalities. The LTTA was organized as a transnational training course in order to prepare the staff members to work with the new methodologies and intellectual outputs, as well as to prepare mentors and trainers who will be able to ensure the sustainability of the project results in all partner countries. We had discussions about how to involve and motivate Municipalities, local administrations or the Central Administration for Adult education in boosting their own activities for adult and/or low-skilled workers or unemployed ones. Learners of the partner organizations exchanged/shared materials, best practices and different aspects of how to enhance local municipalities’ role in supporting adult education.

All partners contributed to the content of the training course.

On Day 1, participants acquired skills in the use of the Desk analysis, the Review and Survey of existing practice in local municipalities as they were collected in all countries, including analysis of the specific target groups;

  • On Day 2, participants acquainted and discussed examples of good practices, the organization of adult education and a new way to motivate adults to LLL;
  • On Day 3, participants discussed the sustainability of the project results, good practice examples of previous projects’ sustainability

On May, 24-27, 2022, in Tallinn, was held the second short-term joint staff training event of the MSAE project, where the Estonian Adult Education Association (ANDRAS) hosted project partner`s adult educators and managers from Prometeo, (an association involved in adult education in Italy), Lithuanian Adult Education Association (LAAE) and Latvian Adult Education Association.

During face-to-face meetings, it was possible to visit the best local administrations in the region, and local adult education centres and meet with non-formal adult education providers.

We listened to Ena Drenkhan, the main expert in the adult education policy field of the Estonian Ministry of Education and Research, about the general situation in adult education in Estonia, various activities and the organizational structure of adult education in the country, and we were also able to find answers to the questions we were interested in about adult education during the discussion.

We get to know the experience of Tallinn Folk High School in organizing and coordinating adult education, meeting and discussing with the director Hannelore Juhtsalu how the Tallinn City Municipality supports non-formal education for adults.

While visiting the Haapsalu Vocational Education and Training Center, participants had the opportunity to meet the head of the centre and coordinator of adult education Ingrit Kera and the coordinator of external communication and international projects Heli Heimo, to get acquainted with the opportunities offered in the field of adult education and the modern training rooms and material and technical base.

While meeting with the representatives of Haapsalu city and Lääne-Nigula municipality, we acquainted the municipality’s experience and ways of cooperation in supporting adult education in Länem. During the discussion, we got an idea about the activities of local village communities and the activities of non-governmental organizations in the organization and coordination of adult education.

The experience gained was passed on to partner member organizations, adult education coordinators and other adult education providers in the regions.

Multiplier Events

The exploitation of the project results is of major importance, therefore multiplier events for stakeholders will be organized in each Country.

This multiplier event consists of 1-3 day dissemination workshops at which the intellectual outputs and results of the project, handbook and good practices, will be shared with a national audience of stakeholders. The organizer of these events will invite a wide range of stakeholders – adult education and training organizations, local/regional authorities, associated partners, local businesses/enterprises associations and citizens in general who could be interested in attending this event. The event will be promoted through the social networks of the project – and those of each partner – as well as through a press release to be sent to the contacts included in the mailing list or to direct contacts.

At the event, there will be short presentations by speakers from the adult education provider; the outputs and results will be introduced, followed by discussions will be organized. In addition, participants, involved in the project will share their experiences in the project, how they benefited and the impact it has had on them and their future intentions. Multiplayer event`s participants will also be given links to the outputs produced by the project. The event will be organized by project staff. In Multiplayer event will be demonstrated also promotional activity of AE day in 1- 3 local municipalities, to encourage local municipalities to experience one of the adult education supporting activities – one of the possible activities in AE day in their territory also after the project. In order to highlight the European dimension of the project, partners of the whole consortium will be encouraged to participate in the event and then provide their testimony and experience. The event will be promoted through the social networks of the project – and those of each partner – as well as through a press release to be sent to the contacts included in the mailing list or to direct contacts. Representatives of regulatory authorities in the fields of education, lifelong learning and labour will be invited to take part in the event in order to ensure an institutional dimension.
